Solar power has come a long way from its expensive early days when only the fortunate few could consider having it on their homes. Today, solar is a clean, cost-effective way to buy energy for our homes, and businesses, as well as an efficient way to “fill the tank” on our electric vehicles!
Going green also feels good. Besides saving money on utility bills, you are helping to save key resources for future generations. Businesses become local leaders when they advertise they have gone green. Homeowners enjoy owning a residence with greater value. The ROI is clear within the first five years of owning a commercial or residential solar power system.
GR8 Energy makes going solar Easy! We design it, install it, and finance it. Serving San Diego and beyond.
Zero Energy Bill in Escondido!
Go Solar with GR8 Energy and say goodbye to the utility company!
This is the go to company for solar installation. Had a mom and pop operations type of company let me hang for months with no progress and they kept blaming the engineering department for the delays. Turn out they were going thru a merger process and kept me on the back burner.
Then, I switch to the big guys in hope of a quicker turnaround and lost a couple more months because their proposal and numbers kept changing and it took 2 weeks to make a change to the smallest system specifications. Something that should only take an hour at most.
Frustrated with the project and with little understanding of the solar business, I went online digging to learn more and end up at an informational website that led to several contractors and proposals submitted. Of the two company that was selected, one quote higher than what I had in place and the other not only have a lower quote, they seem to pay attention to the customer and their needs in having a solar system.
The company has a strange name, GR8 Energy, but once you got it, they are GREAT. They came out for a site survey in reasonable time, the final numbers the next day and installation10-14 days ahead. This was 3 weeks ago and my system is now fully in operation. I was kept informed every step of the way, documents are clearly drawn and available instantly when you need it. The system was priced very reasonable and after some hard work on getting the project finance, I end up with a total cost that is thousands of dollars less and a system that produce thousands more wattage.
I now drive my e-mobile at no cost to power it. The power provided by the sun and the mechanism that channel the energy from the sun to the vehicle provided by GR8 Energy of Vista.
Two thumbs up and Highly recommended if you searching for an installer. You can stop your search now. Call GR8, ask for Jon and say I sent you and you want the same savings and the same system power. You shall get it.

Ross and his team are top notch! Their attention to detail and providing a quality product at a fair price was outstanding. Customer satisfaction was a top priority. I would not hesitate to recommend GR8 Energy to family and friends for solar panel installation.

Our experience with the GR8 Energy team could not have been better. From pre-purchase information through final approval by Southern California Edison, they were with us all the way. The work was completed on time, with great workmanship and good clean up. The one-year anniversary of our install is coming later this month. 11 months of electric bills prove that the scaling of the project was right on. Under the net metering rate plan, the power company will owe us money on the settle-up date. Thank you Ross and team.

Great solar installer out of San Diego area. They were very helpful with information about panels and installation details. What I liked most is they were not at all pushy about trying to sell a particular type of system or panels. And they weren't trying to push the typical sales tactics of creating some sense of time urgency ("I have a special deal that's only good for 5 days"). I did a fair amount of research, and felt that GR8 Energy was honest, up front, and worked with me while I was getting familiar with buying a solar system.

Awesome service! We are very happy with our system!

We had multiple bids for solar, not only was gr8 energy the lowest but their customer service (John Christ) and the quality was exceptional. We have been cool and guilt free in our AC as the rest of Southern California bakes in the heat waves! THANKS! I would recommend you to my mother.

Ross and his team did exactly as promised, on-time and on-budget. He was quite helpful in adjusting the design to meet my budget and payback goals. The 4 man crew were polite, accommodating, did an expert install as well as thoroughly cleaned up my property after themselves. The inspector commented that this was a high quality installation and my wife and I are very happy with the aesthetics.
I found Ross to be highly ethical and would recommend GR8 without reservation.

Can you give more than 5 stars? Customer service, price, equipment, employees, and time to complete all A+++ in my book.
I am so thrilled to be going solar and I am so happy my neighbor told me about GR8 Energy. I got the system I wanted for the price I wanted to pay. Hands down the best home purchase I have made. I have been shopping for solar for over a year since we purchased our new home. Quotes I have received from other major installers all came in a larger price point and would have created roughly 75%% the power output my system that was installed has, I got more power for less $$. I worked with Ross, and he is a great guy. No sales pressure or anything, and he works with you to get you what you want for a fair price. I had seriously priced out what it would cost me to buy safety equipment, solar panels, tools, and everything else to try to attempt the job myself. In the end it just wasn't worth it as GR8 energy offered me a great package and I couldn't say no...
I am a do it yourself type of person, I will spend hours fixing something before I call someone, so having someone walk around on my roof and drill holes through it was going to be a nerve wrecking experience. I must say, GR8 energies team did a fantastic job to say the least. I got a picture package showing me everything they did on the roof, they ran the wire conduit exactly like I asked them to run it and they even paint it to match the stucco and the roof etc. It doesnt stick out like some of the other systems I've seen where they have metal tubing running down the side of their nice homes. His employees are awesome, super nice, and extremely meticulous. They measured twice, cut/drilled once, and pulled out their level multiple times. First Class Act all the way! The holes they drill through the roof are sealed, covered, sealed, covered, sealed... I think my microwave will leak water before those spots on the roof will ever leak water. I feel super comfortable with the way they installed everything, and that's not something I say, pretty much ever.
He originally designed a system for me using string inverters but I wanted more control and understanding of my system so I went with a solar edge unit with dc optimizers. I can see how each individual panel is operating which in my eyes is great, I'm an engineer and knowing how things work is my business. As we speak I am using my own energy to run the AC, fridge, computer, and everything else in the house and my meter is running backwards =)
We talked for about a week, from when I said go, we had the whole thing installed and inspected in about a week! It took SDGE another week to give me permission to operate (PTO) but that's not on GR8 Energy. I've had friends who had taken them almost two months just to get the installation complete. He responded to email/phone calls/ texts/ almost in no time and worked with me and my work schedule to meet and install the system. There wasn't one time we had a disagreement or misunderstanding. Like i said earlier, Ross really is a nice guy, he doesnt try to upsell you anything, it was my own decision to ask for a larger system than I needed (plan on having a family soon and probably a plug-in hybrid) and I want to be ready for it.
Having the AC on and not feeling guilty about it is an awesome feeling. We live in Vista and have turned on the AC less than 10 times over the last year (we've dealt with the heat). It's 10 am on a Saturday and my AC is running non stop without an additional dime out of my pocket for the next 30+ years!
I don't leave a lot of reviews on yelp, mostly because I'm very picky on who I get to do things for me. They didn't even ask me to write this one, I actually asked them to please let me know where I could write a review. I highly recommend GR8 energy and if you are in San Diego and want to check out the first class job they did on my home, I'd be more than willing to show you.
